Fouad Benhammou, a communication studies graduate, started by directing a few short movies which in turn allowed him to be hired as a television director.
 

After having created the fantasy web series FIXION winner at the 2008 Television Festival of Luchon (France), he directed his first feature film THE VILLAGE OF SHADOWS (Le Village des Ombres), a fantasy tale, staring Christa THERET (L.O.L.)  and Barbara GOENAGA (Spanish actress star of CRONOCRIMENES and AGNOSIA)

 

Released at the end of 2010, THE VILLAGE OF SHADOWS was broadcast on the Pay TV channels of Canal Plus in the summer of 2012 and again recently on the thematic horror channel Ciné+ Frisson.

In an entirely different category, Fouad Benhammou directed the series “VDM”, the television adaptation of the famous VDM website, French equivalent of the “fmylife.com” website. This humorous 60 x 5' series was broadcast in 2013 and 2014 in prime time on NT1, a TF1 Group channel.

In 2014, he directs the short movie SHATTERED GLASS (Des Eclats de Verre), written by Onna Clairin, with Jemima West (Indian Summers, Kidnapping Freddy Heinekein, The Mortal Instuments...) and Nicolas Marié (9 mois ferme, 99 Francs, Les Hommes de l'ombre...)

This short movie has won the Grand Prize (Jury Award) as well as the Audience Award at the first Short Movie Competition organized by the SUNDANCE Channel. It was shown at SUNDANCE London, the European version of Robert Redford's Utah-based Independent Film festival.

It also won Best Short Film at the Toronto International Film & Video Awards.

 

In early 2017, Fouad Benhammou co-directs 2 episodes of the french TV show, PROFILING PARIS (Season 8).

From July till October 2017, he co-directs 8 épisodes of 7 & ME (Season 2), produced by METHOD Animation. An hybrid TV show aired in 80 countries in the world.

 

From February till August 2019, he co-directs 30 épisodes of the french TV series CHRONICLES OF THE SUN (UN SI GRAND SOLEIL), produced by France Tv Studio and aired on France 2.

 

Today, he's hard at work on his next feature film project, called GARY & SAUL.

Après des études de communication, Fouad Benhammou réalise plusieurs courts métrages, qui lui permettent de décrocher ses premiers jobs de réalisateur pour la télévision.

Après avoir créé FIXION, une web-série fantastique primée au FESTIVAL TV DE Luchon 2008, il réalise son premier long métrage pour le cinéma : “LE VILLAGE DES OMBRES”, un conte fantastique, avec Christa THERET, Barbara GOENAGA – l’actrice espagnole vedette de CRONOCRIMENES et AGNOSIA - Cyrille THOUVENIN, Ornella BOULÉ, Axel KIENER et Jonathan COHEN.

Après être sorti en salle fin 2010, LE VILLAGE DES OMBRES a été diffusé l’été 2012 sur les chaines du bouquet CANAL + et encore récemment sur CINÉ + FRISSON.

Dans un tout autre registre, il a signé la réalisation de VDM, LA SÉRIE, l’adaptation télévisée du célèbre site VDM.

La série humoristique de 60 X 5 minutes a été diffusée en 2013 et 2014, du lundi au vendredi en prime time sur NT1, chaine du groupe TF1.

En 2014, il réalise le film court DES ÉCLATS DE VERRE, écrit par Onna Clairin, avec Jemima West (Indian Summers, Kidnapping Freddy Heinekein, The Mortal Instuments : La Cité des Ténèbres, Maison Close...) et Nicolas Marié (9 mois ferme, 99 Francs, Les Hommes de l'ombre...)

Le film a remporté le GRAND PRIX DU JURY et le PRIX DU PUBLIC du 1er Concours de courts organisé par SUNDANCE Channel. Il a été projeté en 2014 au SUNDANCE London, la déclinaison européenne du fameux festival créé par Robert Redford dans l'Utah.

 

Le film a aussi remporté le Prix du Meilleur Court Métrage au Toronto International Film and Vidéo Awards.

 

Début 2017, Fouad Benhammou co-réalise 2 épisodes de la série policière de TF1, PROFILAGE (Saison 8). Les épisodes ont été diffusés avec succès le 14 Septembre 2017 sur TF1 (22,5 de Part d'audience, 5, 2 millions de spectateurs)

 

De juillet à octobre 2017, il co-réalise 8 épisodes de 7 NAINS ET MOI (saison 2), produits par METHOD Animation. Une série jeunesse hybride, diffusée dans 80 pays dans le monde.

De février à  août 2019, il co-réalise 30 épisodes de UN SI GRAND SOLEIL, produits par FRANCE TV Studio, série quotidienne diffusée tous les soirs à 20h45 sur France 2.

Il travaille actuellement sur son nouveau projet de long métrage, intitulé GARY & SAUL).
